Kindergarten 2022

Kindergarten Orientation Program

We offer an extensive Kindergarten Orientation Program to ensure each child experiences a positive start to Kindergarten. The aim of the program is to give children an early understanding of the school’s routines and it’s physical layout and for students to become comfortable within the school environment and meet some friends with whom they will be attending school in 2022.

Parent Pod meetings

During these meetings, parents are invited to meet with our principal, Mr David Holland and Kindergarten Assistant Principal Mrs Tracy Lewis. We hope these meetings will provide us with an opportunity to get to know each other a  little better, discuss how we can make transition to our school a smooth one and enable you the opportunity to have your questions answered.

Parent pod meetings also give you an opportunity to meet with other parents who may ask a question that you had not thought of. These meetings will take approximately 30 minutes and take place on Tuesday 14th September.  Meeting times will be emailed to all families in a separate email closer to the date.

During this visit to school, we ask that you take the opportunity to finalise all documentation required including your 100 points Residential Address documentation (please see explanation further on in this email.

Orientation Visits

Subject to COVID-19 guidelines, all Kindergarten students will be invited to attend 3 separate Orientation sessions where they will spend time participating in typical Kindergarten learning experiences and become familiar with our school environment. This time also allows for our teaching staff to gather information about your child’s learning and social needs.

These visits will be held on:

  • Friday 15th October      -   9:30 am 10:45 am or 11:30 am – 12:45 pm
  • Friday 29th October      -   9:30 am 10:45 am or 11:30 am – 12:45 pm
  • Friday 19th November  -   9:30 am 10:45 am or 11:30 am – 12:45 pm

We will have two sessions on each of these days so children will attend in smaller groups. You will be notified which group your child has been placed in closer to the date.

Parent Workshops

Parents will also be involved in workshops which will run simultaneously to the student sessions during two of the Orientation visits.

  • Friday 29th October – Parents are invited to attend presentations from a range of groups including our P & C, school office team, Scripture and Ethics teachers in our school hall. An information EXPO and morning tea will be available for parents and the Uniform Shop will also be open on this day.
  • Friday 19th November – Parents are invited to attend an Information Session presented by our Principal and Kindergarten Assistant Principal covering topics including how to support your child, what to do if something goes wrong and strategies for success.
